Pictured is the recently acquired Bobcat MiniX at the Enterprise City cemetery as it is about to open a grave for a burial service later today. The new trackhoe is smaller and more versatile than our large backhoe and will allow for digging of graves in tighter spots as our cemetery continues to fill with headstones and gravestones. It is also much less damaging to the grass. Along with the MiniX, we acquired a tilt trailer for transporting this and other City equipment for use on trenching service for our various utilities. This has been a priority purchase for several years and will be a welcome addition to our equipment list.
Pictured is the recently completed Veterans Memorial at the City Cemetery. In addition to the US Flag and a POW/MIA flag, it flies the 4 flags from the different branches of the military. This was a joint project between the local American Legion post, an Eagle Scout project, and the City. It also has a bench for reflection on the service and sacrifice of the many who have been part of the US military. Thanks to all who have been involved as it is a fitting and inspiring addition to a very sacred place in our City.
I would encourage residents to take a moment and drive through the cemetery. We are pleased with the appearance and beauty of this special part of our community.
